41°-74° Virtual Holiday Fundraiser 2020

Friday,  December 18th, 2020

12:00pm - 1:30pm

As you know, one of our organization's main pillars is philanthropy; therefore, we felt strongly about keeping the fundraising element for our event.

Registration for the event is open to everyone and registration is free. However in an effort to raise funds for our chosen charity, we are asking for a suggested donation of $25 to participate.

Any donation of $25 or more will automatically enter you for a chance to win one of (6) $50 and (2) $100 gift cards to be raffled at the event.

100% of the donations raised will go towards our selected charity.

Please note, if you wish to be considered for the raffle, you must complete your minimum $25 donation by Thursday December 17th. We will continue to accept donations after this date and throughout the duration of the event, however they will not be entered in the raffle if received after December 17th.

The Starfish Program is our designated charity for this year's event. Dr. Samuel Sigal is in charge of the Starfish Program which is to educate approximately 120,000 people in the Bronx. This community, mostly from West Africa, unfortunately are not being screened for the infection of Hepatitis B, which is rapidly spreading among them. Hepatitis B causes cirrhosis and liver cancer and the need for a liver transplant. The program is trying to prevent the spread by education and screening blood tests. All funds from the club fundraiser will pay 100% for blood tests screenings and vaccinations. Please visit our "Philanthropy" page to learn more about the Montefiore Starfish Program.

We are delighted to announce that Terry Dale will be this year's speaker at our event!

Terry Dale was named president of the U.S. Tour Operators Association (USTOA) in January 2011. On January 31, 2013, Dale also assumed the additional role of Chief Executive Officer for the association.

Among Dale’s responsibilities at USTOA are developing the association’s strategic marketing initiatives, managing the association’s government advocacy on issues affecting tour operators, and working with other leaders and decision makers in the travel industry to identify mutual challenges and opportunities. Dale also serves as a key ambassador and spokesperson for USTOA. He holds the distinction of being the third president in USTOA’s 40 year history.

A well-known and respected travel industry leader, Dale has had a distinguished career, most recently as president and CEO of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) since 2003. His previous positions include five years with NYC & Company – The NYC Convention and Visitors Bureau-- where he was executive vice president; and ten years as president and CEO of the Greater Providence Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as president of the New England Society of Convention and Visitor’s Bureaus. Sanctuary for Families

For many years, the 4174 Club has collected toys and pajamas donated by our members and friends during our Annual Holiday Luncheon.  Since we are unable to meet in person this year and collect items, the club has agreed to donate from our treasury, $1,000 to Sanctuary for Families. Joanne Armine-Costagliola's daughter has generously agreed to match our donation with an additional $1,000. Therefore a total of $2,000 will be donated to this wonderful organization this year.
